When I say “I don’t believe that the severity of the punishment should match the severity of the crimes”, what I’m saying is that I much prefer the Stark way of approaching crime: the facts are laid out, you’re given a chance to defend yourself, and then depending on what you did, you’re punished for it. If you kill one person, you’re beheaded, if you kill 100 people but also torture and mutilate them, you’re still beheaded with no other punishment attached. I just don’t believe in systems where “if this person did x to a person, then kills them, they should have x done to them too”.
Redemption is something a lot of people want for their favorite characters, but I’m wary of it. Some people just can’t be redeemed.
