i mean??? i legitimately have not watched half of both seasons 5 and 6 because of cersei and sansa’s respective rapes. i looked up clips of stuff i wanted to see like oberyn vs the mountain and hardhome because i was so disgusted by this violently misogynistic writing and moreso when i realized that sansa’s rape was written in as a latent empowerment tool. these men are gross and they’re bad writers.

im just so tired of seeing people give d&d credit where absolutely none is due. these dudes write non-canonical rape scenes, constantly cater to the male gaze, omit characters like arianne and quentyn, wrote in violent homophobia that had no canon basis, have exclusively equated empowerment to violence, and somehow people think that they’re good writers who are going to give them what they want??? lol, are we watching the same show???

@ everyone STILL trying to defend undercover…

Or.. The writers are actually trying to tell us something by Jon not bending the damn knee and not sharing an ounce of personal information when it came to Dany. Just saying.. I seriously question if any one has forgotten about Jon betraying Ygritte and playing the wildlings at times..

the writers also decided that ellaria is fine with killing children and that the sand snakes dont care about killing their cousin or their uncle. the writers decided that arya is a cold-blooded killer who is unfeeling even as she threatens her own sister. the writers decided that jon and gendry are gonna get along swimmingly but somehow neither of them think to mention arya, despite her being hugely important in both their lives. the writers decided to undo the character growth they wrote for jaime several seasons ago in favor of just making him a boring dumbass who somehow couldn’t shake cersei until just last season. but sure, tell me more about how the writers surely must be “telling us something” when that “something” is clearly “we don’t know how to write for shit”

viisenya:

shoutout to the people in this fandom that don’t reduce jon’s character to just an accessory to a ship, that actually care enough about jon to not butcher his characterization by coming up with bullshit theories that don’t take into account jon’s personality, that respect jon’s importance as an individual in the story
