hi, serene. i would like to ask you some non-fandom question if thats okay. how did you take notes in college? how did you prepare for exams? thanks!

I committed to typing all my notes on my computer, because it was easier to organize and fix things, and also because it will always be legible. In class I take notes on whatever the professor placed emphasis on or highlights as an important topic.

I prepare for exams by beginning to study way in advance— at least three days before, if not more. During that time I’ll make a study guide (if there’s a lot of powerpoint slides) and start to at least look over the information. As it grew closer to exam day, I studied more intensively and for longer periods of time. The day of the exam, I try not to look at anything. As far as I’m concerned, if there’s something I don’t know by the morning of, then I can’t learn it and retain it a few hours before the exam. I also don’t pull all nighters. Sleep is important.

Most of studying is time management and knowing what’s most important to study. That’s when professors become an important resource in finding out what they want you to know (sometimes they really do want you to know ALL of it— but it’s still doable).

Good luck!
